SURF ACADEMY " FILSURF"

Hello everybody!!

FILSURF is the surf school for kids and  teenagers ( lagos area residents), who are interested to learn first steps of Surf/Longboard and who already do surf and wants to improve technique to participate in surf competitions.

During the first lessons students-beginners will be entering water and the surf world, learning everything about it, starting with the description of the equipment and finishing with complicated tricks.

How many of you want to start doing this sport and have difficulties choosing the right equipment, buying the wrong board for your level causing by the lack of the basic knowledge and by the lack of the professional adviser.

In FILSURF school all the equipment starting with the board, leash, wax and the wetsuitis adequate for the level of the student and is given by school, which means that you don't have to invest in your own equipment to learn first steps of the surf/longboard.

FILSURF teachers are certificated by Portuguese Surf Federation.

School is providing lessons during the weekends ( Saturday and Sunday) . Lessons consist of theory basics ( description of equipment, safety techniques, etc. ) and practice.

To provide the greatest opportunity to participate, continuity within the training and team building between the students, during the summer holidays academy will be organizing surf trips lasting 1 or 2 weeks to the best surf spots in Portugal ( and possibly outside of Portugal).

FILSURF  SCHOOL general information 2010

Every weekend at 10:00am FILSURF School is providing departures from the Lagos Surf Center surf shop ,in Lagos, to one beach on the south or west coast, depending on wind and swell conditions.( beetween Sagres-Lagos-Aljezur)

AGE: from 6 years

GROUP MAX. : 8 kids and one teacher

LESSON' S PROGRAM: 10:00am pick up at Lagos Surf Center surf shop

10:00-11:00 arriving to the beach ( it can take 10 to 40 minutes drive to get to the beach, )

11:00-12:30 first lesson ( warm-up, theory, and practice in the water with the teacher) *

12:30-14:00 lunch ( students bring it with them to the beach)

14:00-15:30 second lesson (theory and free surf) *

17:00 back to Lagos Surf Center surf shop in Lagos **

* Duration of the lessons depends on the weather and ocean conditions

** Students can arrive back to Lagos earlier or later than it is mentioned in the program depending on the distancesto the beach where the lesson is taking place and the duration of the lesson

School works with pre-payments only!

It is important to book the lesson in advance!

Price includes:

- Transfer to the beach and back

- Equipment ( weatsuit and surfboard)

- 2 lessons per day ( 1,5h each lesson)

- Theory

IMPORTANT TO BRING TO THE BEACH: towel, sun cream, hat, dry and warm cloth to change after surf lesson, lunch ( sandwich, water/juice, fruit,chocolate).
