We have daily departures from LAGOS SURF CENTER, to the south or west coast, depending on wind and swell conditions. we offer a full package of transport, lessons, wetsuit and surfboard! Our instructors are recognized by the Portuguese Surfing Federation and it doesn´t matter if you are a total beginner!

BEGINNERS   -   INTERMEDIATE

To book, all you need to do is pass by Lagos Surf Center surf shop, if you are in Lagos, otherwise you can contact us by phone or e-mail, and most important is to do it in advance.

We leave every day from the shop, which is located in the center of Lagos (rua Silva Lopes nº 31 near the police station), at 9.45 am and we return around 6 pm. We also can pick up our clients in Meia-Praia and Porto de Mós in Lagos, Praia da Luz, Burgau, Salema and Sagres.

Maximum 8 people per instructor in vans or jeeps.

The instructors are constantly informed about the weather forecast and the sea’s conditions, and each day they choose the location accordingly. 

Between Lagos, Sagres and Aljezur there are many beaches with good conditions (Meia Praia, Zavial, Mareta, Cordoama, Amado, Arrifana). The classes for beginners are given with small waves on sandy bottoms.

Travel time to the beaches varies between 5 to 40 minutes. Nearly all the beaches have a beach bar or restaurant.

Once at the beach the lesson begins with a simple theoretical explanation on dry sand and a short warm up; after that the class is ready to get in the water, to catch the first white waves, always under the instructors supervision.

The first lesson takes approximately 2 hours and by the end most people are able to stand up on the board! Then, there is a lunch break which you can relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of this coastline!

The second lesson starts on the afternoon.

For beginners we have boards with “softdeck” (top in rubber), and for the intermediates boards in epoxy. Wetsuits are Billabong and Rip Curl. Boards are BIC.

Important items to bring: sunscreen, towel and hat.

Anyone who wants to go without lessons or they have their own equipment, they can book a place for 25€, and get to know the beautiful beaches of the Costa Vicentina.

                                                           KIDS

Kids are welcome for the age of 6 to 14 years, although they have to be accompanied by a parent. You can also come along with your own car.

One of our instructors is specialized in teaching kids.

                                                         GROUPS

The safari for groups is identical to the one for beginners, although you can choose what time you leave and come back, with the possibility of picking up the group at the place where you are staying. According to the number of people per group there could be a discount.

EXPERTS

For experts the safari is a great opportunity to surf in great spots with less people. In this particular area of the Algarve the wind and swell conditions are good all year round; beach breaks, reef breaks, point breaks and a large variety of waves.

An expert, local guide will take you to the best beaches which can change every day accordingly with the wind and swell conditions

The price is the same as a regular surf safari. The minimum is 2 persons and maximum 4.
